La Jolla Couples Photographer
For anniversaries, date nights, or just because. In La Jolla, that means spots like La Jolla Cove and Windansea Beach.
You don't need a wedding or an engagement to get good photos of the two of you. Couples sessions are for anniversaries, a season you want to remember, or simply because it's been too long since there was a nice photo of you together.
La Jolla is the crown jewel of the San Diego coast — dramatic sandstone bluffs, tide pools, and light that turns gold an hour before sunset.
Local know-how: Metered parking fills fast on weekends — arrive early or plan a weekday session. Ceremonies on the bluffs at Scripps Park require a City of San Diego permit, which I'll help you sort out.
La Jolla Spots for Couples
Where we'll shoot
La Jolla Cove
Iconic, but busy — we shoot the bluffs just north or south to skip the crowds.
Windansea Beach
The surf shack and sandstone reefs make for moody, textured backdrops at low tide.
Ellen Browning Scripps Park
Open lawns and palm-lined paths right above the cove — great for families.
Scripps Pier
A clean coastal line and reliable sunset color; best from the beach just south.
Mount Soledad
A 360° overlook of the whole coast, ideal for a quick sunset stop.

La Jolla couples photography questions
Where do you shoot couples photos in La Jolla?+
La Jolla Cove, Windansea Beach, Ellen Browning Scripps Park are my go-to spots for couples sessions here. Iconic, but busy — we shoot the bluffs just north or south to skip the crowds.
Do you travel to La Jolla?+
Yes — Central to my service area — about 15 minutes from downtown San Diego. La Jolla is part of my regular service area.
We're awkward in photos. Can you help?+
Everyone says that, and everyone loosens up. I give simple prompts — movement, not poses — so you're doing something together rather than staring down a lens.
