Point Loma Engagement Photographer
The warm-up round before your wedding — and a lot of fun. In Point Loma, that means spots like Sunset Cliffs Natural Park and Cabrillo National Monument.
An engagement session is the best thing you can do before your wedding. It's a low-stakes hour to get comfortable in front of the camera, figure out how you two move together, and come away with images for save-the-dates and the wall.
Point Loma delivers the most dramatic coastline in the city — the layered sandstone cliffs at Sunset Cliffs Natural Park glow orange as the sun drops, and the views from Cabrillo stretch across the whole bay. It's ideal for moody, cinematic couple sessions.
Local know-how: Sunset Cliffs has no railings in places — safety first, so we stick to stable vantage points. Cabrillo closes early and charges entry. Street parking near the cliffs fills right at sunset.
Point Loma Spots for Engagements
Where we'll shoot
Sunset Cliffs Natural Park
The best sunset on the mainland — we scout a safe ledge with clean sightlines.
Cabrillo National Monument
Sweeping bay-and-skyline overlooks; note it closes at 5pm, so it's a daytime stop.
Liberty Station
Spanish-colonial arches and green lawns for a polished, architectural feel.
Sunset Cliffs tide pools
Low-tide texture and reflection right at the base of the bluffs.

Point Loma engagement photography questions
Where do you shoot engagement photos in Point Loma?+
Sunset Cliffs Natural Park, Cabrillo National Monument, Liberty Station are my go-to spots for engagement sessions here. The best sunset on the mainland — we scout a safe ledge with clean sightlines.
Do you travel to Point Loma?+
Yes — About 15 minutes from downtown San Diego. Point Loma is part of my regular service area.
Where should we do our engagement photos?+
Somewhere that's yours. Popular San Diego spots include La Jolla Cove, Sunset Cliffs, Balboa Park, and the desert near Anza-Borrego — but a meaningful backyard beats a scenic cliché every time.
How far ahead of the wedding should we book?+
Four to six months out is ideal — enough time to use the images for save-the-dates and to get comfortable with me before the wedding day.
