An engagement session is the best thing you can do before your wedding. It's a low-stakes hour to get comfortable in front of the camera, figure out how you two move together, and come away with images for save-the-dates and the wall.
Carlsbad has the most variety of anywhere in North County — wide state beaches, the famous spring Flower Fields, the calm Batiquitos Lagoon, and a cluster of the region's best wedding resorts. Whatever the season, there's a strong backdrop within a few minutes' drive.
Local know-how: The Flower Fields require paid admission and are wildly popular in April — weekday mornings are the move. The Crossings and Aviara are hilltop venues with sweeping sunset views to the west.

Yes — About 35 minutes north of downtown; central to all of North County. Carlsbad is part of my regular service area.

Somewhere that's yours. Popular San Diego spots include La Jolla Cove, Sunset Cliffs, Balboa Park, and the desert near Anza-Borrego — but a meaningful backyard beats a scenic cliché every time.
How far ahead of the wedding should we book?+
Four to six months out is ideal — enough time to use the images for save-the-dates and to get comfortable with me before the wedding day.
