An engagement session is the best thing you can do before your wedding. It's a low-stakes hour to get comfortable in front of the camera, figure out how you two move together, and come away with images for save-the-dates and the wall.
Temecula wine country is San Diego's answer to Napa — rolling vineyards, hot-air balloons at dawn, and a cluster of wineries built specifically for weddings. The light through the vines at golden hour is genuinely special.
Local know-how: Summer afternoons run hot inland — we shoot early or late and build in shade. Most wineries require you to use their preferred vendors for the venue but welcome outside photographers; I'll confirm per site.

Somewhere that's yours. Popular San Diego spots include La Jolla Cove, Sunset Cliffs, Balboa Park, and the desert near Anza-Borrego — but a meaningful backyard beats a scenic cliché every time.
How far ahead of the wedding should we book?+
Four to six months out is ideal — enough time to use the images for save-the-dates and to get comfortable with me before the wedding day.
