Rancho Santa Fe Engagement Photographer

The warm-up round before your wedding — and a lot of fun. In Rancho Santa Fe, that means spots like The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe gardens and Rancho Valencia grounds.

An engagement session is the best thing you can do before your wedding. It's a low-stakes hour to get comfortable in front of the camera, figure out how you two move together, and come away with images for save-the-dates and the wall.

Rancho Santa Fe is San Diego's estate country — eucalyptus-lined lanes, sprawling private grounds, and some of the most exclusive wedding venues in the region.

Local know-how: Most venues here are private estates with their own rules and preferred-vendor lists — I coordinate directly with each. Golden light through the hills is the highlight; we build the timeline around it.

Rancho Santa Fe Spots for Engagements

Where we'll shoot

  • The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe gardens

Mature cottage gardens and dappled light under old trees.

  • Rancho Valencia grounds

Olive groves and Spanish-colonial courtyards for an editorial feel.

  • Eucalyptus lanes

The tall, silvery groves the village is known for make a dramatic natural aisle.

Rancho Santa Fe engagement photography questions

Where do you shoot engagement photos in Rancho Santa Fe?+

The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe gardens, Rancho Valencia grounds, Eucalyptus lanes are my go-to spots for engagement sessions here. Mature cottage gardens and dappled light under old trees.

Do you travel to Rancho Santa Fe?+

Yes — About 30 minutes north of downtown, inland from Del Mar. Rancho Santa Fe is part of my regular service area.

Where should we do our engagement photos?+

Somewhere that's yours. Popular San Diego spots include La Jolla Cove, Sunset Cliffs, Balboa Park, and the desert near Anza-Borrego — but a meaningful backyard beats a scenic cliché every time.

How far ahead of the wedding should we book?+

Four to six months out is ideal — enough time to use the images for save-the-dates and to get comfortable with me before the wedding day.
